Everlyn Kemboi, a redshirt senior at Utah Valley representing Kenya, won the women's 10,000-meter race in 32:05.56 at the NCAA Division 1 West Regional at Sacramento State. Kemboi rebounded from finishing 12th in her 1,500-meter qualifying race and last overall in 5:12.74 after experiencing food poisoning to prevail in the 10,000 more than two hours later. Kemboi secured her berth to compete in the June 8 final at the Division 1 championship meet at Mike A. Myers Stadium in Austin, Texas.
